Constance Stuart (1873-1926), nee Petrie, authored Tom Petrie’s Reminiscences of Early Queensland, a compilation of stories told by her father, a Queensland grazier and explorer who forged strong, close relationships with Aborigines. The Brisbane suburb of Petrie is named after him.
While the compilation wasn’t published until 1904, the author’s note states, ‘that the greater content of this book first appeared in the Queenslander in the form of articles’.
